Montenegro lifts fuel price caps for petrol and eurodiesel
Montenegro has increased the maximum retail price caps for petrol and eurodiesel, a move that will affect pump prices during the current one-week pricing window. The Ministry of Energy and Mining said heating oil will be unchanged, while the new limits apply from 13 to 19 October.
What changed at the pump
Under the updated maximum prices, Eurosuper 98 is set at 1.84 euros per litre, up three cents. Eurosuper 95 rises to 1.80 euros per litre, also an increase of three cents. Eurodiesel increases by two cents to 1.98 euros per litre.
Heating oil remains at 1.98 euros per litre.
How Montenegro sets the caps
The Ministry said the calculation followed a Government decision that reduced excise duties on unleaded petrol and gas oils, alongside a regulation governing how maximum retail prices are determined for certain petroleum products.
Specifically, excise duty was cut by 20% for petrol and by 10% for eurodiesel as part of that decision.
Timing and next update
Accounts differed on when the increases began: some indicated prices were higher from the day of announcement, while others said the new rates took effect at midnight on 13 October. The validity period continues through 19 October.
The next calculation is scheduled for 19 October, with prices expected to be announced for the period starting 20 October after that review.
