The Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) has published an updated list of companies with blocked accounts, showing seven fewer blocked companies compared to the previous list.
The new list includes approximately 20,960 companies registered in the Central Registry of Business Entities (CRPS) and the CBCG records. Out of these, about 3,450 companies are recorded only with CBCG and are not listed in CRPS.
According to the Payment Transactions Law, CBCG is required to publish data related to forced debt collection, including company names, identification numbers, blocked account amounts, and the duration of the block.
However, identification numbers for sole proprietors are not published because they are linked to citizens’ personal ID numbers in CBCG’s Central Transaction Account Registry, and revealing them would violate personal data protection laws.
CBCG publishes this data monthly on its website on the first working day after the end of each month, reflecting the status as of the last day of that month, and lists companies alphabetically.
Since July 2012, when CBCG began publishing these records, data was published under the previous law only for companies or entrepreneurs whose accounts were blocked for over 30 consecutive days with amounts exceeding 10,000 EUR.
The published list aims to ensure full transparency and impartiality.
