This is the third government-to-government (GTG) agreement between the two countries in recent years.
Brigadier General (Res.) Yair Kulas, the Director of the International Defense Cooperation Directorate (SIBAT) of the Israel Ministry of Defense (IMoD) signed the agreement with the Director of Logistics at the Montenegro Ministry of Defense, Colonel Vladan Martic, during a ceremony held at the IMoD headquarters in Tel Aviv.
The GTG Defense Exports Agreement is valued at approximately 20 million Euros, and had been approved by IMoD Director General Major General (Res.) Eyal Zamir.
βAs part of the contract , Elbit Systems Ltd. will supply 120mm mortar munition systems that can be mounted on 4Γ4 armored vehicles as well as the training of soldiers and officers at the Elbit-IMI Academy in Israel,β specified a statement TV7 obtained from the IMoD Spokespersonβs Office.
Elbit Systems Land Division General Manager Yehuda Vered said his company βis proud to take part in partnership between Israel and Montenegro,β and that its βsolutions provide the optimal response to the growing needs in Europe.β
Gen. Kulas underscored that the third agreement βwith our partners in Montenegro since bolstering our defense relations in 2019β serves as βa great expression of confidence in the Israeli defense industry.β
Montenegro βfaces complex security challenges like other European countries,β said the SIBAT Director, adding that Israeli defense industries are able to provide its partner and ally with βtechnological solutions of the highest standard.β
