European Commission approves €383.5 million Reform Agenda for Montenegro

The European Commission (EC) has approved Montenegro’s Reform Agenda, officially securing €383.5 million in support for the country, as announced by Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.

In a post on platform X, he stated that these funds will provide significant impetus for social transformation and infrastructure development over the next three years.

“I am confident that, alongside the reforms we will implement, this will prepare Montenegro for EU membership by 2028,” said Spajić.

The adoption of the Reform Agenda paves the way for accessing funds from the Instrument for Reform and Growth under the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.

Montenegro has been allocated €383.5 million, of which €110 million is in the form of grants and €273.5 million consists of favorable loans.

The first tranche of approximately €29 million is expected to be received by the end of the year.
