Montenegro’s Minister of Tourism, Simonida Kordić, reconvened a special session of the Coordination Body for Monitoring Tourist Season Preparations to review the implementation of previous conclusions and address challenges ahead of the summer season.

Kordić emphasized the critical role of tourism, which accounts for approximately 30% of Montenegro’s GDP, stating that the success of the season depends on the coordinated efforts of all institutions involved.

One key proposal discussed was restricting the movement of heavy trucks (over seven tons) on the Adriatic Highway between 10:00 and 22:00 during the season. Authorities were also asked to evaluate the possibility of conducting roadworks at night to ease daytime congestion, with a particular focus on ensuring smooth traffic flow on the Tivat–Jaz route.

The Ministry requested detailed infrastructure updates from the police, transport authorities, and utility providers (CEDIS and the Regional Waterworks), who are to submit reports within seven days.
