In April, the total value of payment transactions over 22 working days reached €2.37 billion, marking a 7.2% increase compared to March, according to the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG).
Of this amount, 94.25% was processed through the Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system, with the remainder handled by the Deferred Net Settlement (DNS) system.
The RTGS system processes individual payment transactions between participants on a gross basis in real time, while the DNS system settles interbank payments on a net basis with a delay.
During April, a total of 1.32 million payment orders were executed, with 40.16% processed via RTGS and the rest through DNS.
The average daily number of processed orders in both systems was approximately 60,000, with an average daily transaction value of €107.95 million.
System availability was 99.97% in April, with only three minutes of downtime recorded over nearly 12,000 minutes of production time.
