Since the beginning of this year, 1.01 million vehicles have used Montenegro’s Princess Ksenija highway, according to data from Monteput. In 2023, 2.87 million vehicles used the highway, up from 2.29 million in 2023 and 1.14 million in 2022.
The priority section of the Bar–Boljare highway was officially opened on July 13, 2022, and opened to traffic the following day. During the first seven days, tolls were free. After that, the toll fees were set at €1.5 for motorcycles, €3.5 for passenger vehicles, and €17 for trucks and buses.
This initial section is 41.5 kilometers long and includes 20 main-route bridges, 9 ramp bridges, 2 overpasses, 8 underpasses, 7.2 kilometers of concrete walls, and 16 twin-tube tunnels. It has four interchanges—Smokovac, Pelev Brijeg, Veruša, and Mateševo—each equipped with toll stations. The maximum speed limit is 100 km/h.
