Sozina Tunnel sees 622,000 vehicles in 2025: A vital link for Montenegro’s traffic

Since the beginning of the year, the Sozina Tunnel has serviced 622,020 vehicles.

According to data from Monteput’s website, which manages the tunnel, 3.78 million vehicles passed through it last year. In 2023, the tunnel saw 3.52 million vehicles, and in 2022, 3.07 million.

The Sozina Tunnel was opened in July 2005. Its construction cost approximately 74 million EUR, with 50 million provided by Montenegro and 24 million financed by a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).

The tunnel is 4.19 kilometers long and connects the coastal region with the central part of Montenegro.
