The Ocean Race Europe 2025 will make history by reaching the Adriatic Sea for the first time, with its grand finale set in Montenegro’s Boka Bay this September. The race begins on August 10 in Kiel, Germany, covering over 4,000 nautical miles across Europe’s key maritime cities including Portsmouth (UK), Matosinhos-Porto (Portugal), Cartagena (Spain), Nice (France), and Genoa (Italy), before arriving in Montenegro.
Porto Montenegro in Tivat will host the final as the official marina. The event highlights the country’s growing importance in global sailing and sustainable marine initiatives.
The race will feature cutting-edge IMOCA sailboats with mixed international crews. Alongside competition, teams will collect vital ocean data, continuing the race’s award-winning science program.
Onshore, the Ocean Live Park in each host city will offer interactive exhibitions, team meet-and-greets, and educational activities focused on ocean health and sustainability.
Organizers aim to use the race to raise awareness about marine protection and strengthen Europe’s environmental and social cooperation through sport.
