Former beach tenants in Ulcinj are currently in negotiations with the company “Eagle Hills”, owned by UAE businessman Mohamed Alabbar. This comes after Alabbar announced that he would transfer nine awarded beach sites to them. The tenants hope that the issue will be resolved by the end of the month, as they are already behind in preparing for the summer season.
Tenant Albert Kastrati stated on the morning show “Boje jutra” on TV Vijesti that due to a significant increase in rental prices, they will have to raise their service prices, although they are aware that it might not be a favorable business move.
He explained that rental fees have increased nearly fivefold. Since most of their guests come from the region, maintaining competitiveness will be extremely difficult. Kastrati warned that raising service prices could result in losing customers, but emphasized that they have no other choice.
During the holidays, there was a slight increase in visitors, but now Velika Plaža is almost deserted. Kastrati noted that this situation has likely discouraged some potential tourists. Nevertheless, he assured guests that they are welcome and that the tenants will do their best to provide a warm reception, perhaps even better than in previous years.
