Aleksinac launches public review for revised Mozgovo wind farm plan at 150 MW

Serbia’s Municipality of Aleksinac has begun a public review process for planning documentation tied to a new wind energy project in the Mozgovo area—an important step in determining how the development may proceed. For investors and developers, the consultation signals that the project is moving from concept toward formal planning scrutiny, while also reflecting material changes to its earlier design.

Revised Mozgovo wind farm: lower capacity, fewer turbines

The proposed development is led by WPP Forestwind and would have an installed capacity of 150 MW, supported by 22 wind turbines. Compared with earlier proposals submitted last year, the project has been substantially reshaped: planned capacity was reduced by 75 MW, and turbine numbers were cut from 40 to 22.

Planned footprint across Mozgovo and Bovan

According to the planning documentation under review, the wind farm would be built across roughly 2,015 hectares. The area would cover parts of the cadastral zones of Mozgovo and Bovan.

The public review process will provide a channel for stakeholders to examine the revised layout and planning basis before further steps are taken. Any outcome could influence timelines and project parameters as the Mozgovo wind farm advances through Serbia’s local planning procedures.
