HOPS launches CROPEX auction for 2027 power to cover Croatia’s transmission losses

Croatian electricity transmission system operator HOPS is inviting market participants to bid in an auction aimed at procuring electricity to cover transmission system losses through the CROPEX trading platform. The procurement is designed around a single delivery window spanning the full calendar year, providing a predictable supply profile for loss coverage.

Scope and delivery profile

The auction will be held for electricity delivered from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027. The delivery profile is set at a constant 5 MWh per hour every day throughout the period, running from Monday to Sunday and 00:00–24:00. In total, the volume covered by the auction amounts to 43,800 MWh.

Auction timing on CROPEX

The auction will take place on 19 May, with the bidding window scheduled between 11:00 and 12:00 CET. Interested participants are being asked to take part in the process for this specific loss-coverage procurement.
