Montenegro household power bills fall in March 2026, but consumption remains uneven
Montenegro’s latest household electricity data points to a modest easing in costs month-to-month, even as year-on-year prices remain higher. In March 2026, the average monthly bill for households stood at €39.73—an 8.1% decline from the previous month’s €43.25—while still rising 3.2% compared with March last year (€38.48).
Big municipal differences
Average bills varied sharply across municipalities. The lowest figure was recorded in Žabljak at €20.3, whereas Tivat posted the highest average monthly bill at €50.1.
How bills were distributed among households
Looking at the spread of payments, 57.98% of households paid less than €30 for electricity consumed in March. Another 15.65% fell into the €30 to €50 band, while 18.35% were billed between €50 and €100. The remaining 8.02% of customers received bills exceeding €100.
EPCG reports consumption trends and discount coverage
Power utility EPCG reported that households consumed a total of 141.6 million kWh in March 2026. Consumption was up 1.14% versus March 2025 but down 6.59% compared with February.
EPCG also said that 152,313 regularly paying customers benefited from a discount scheme, representing approximately 36.9% of total electricity consumers in Montenegro.
