Bosnia’s FBiH rolls out revised natural gas pricing after moderate wholesale increase
The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) has adopted a revised natural gas pricing framework, a move that matters for both household and commercial energy costs because it updates the wholesale level used by distribution companies. Under the decision taken by the Federal Government, the new wholesale price applies from 1 April.
For distribution companies, the updated wholesale price is set at around €441 per 1,000 cubic meters, excluding VAT. The change reflects a 4.59% increase versus the previous rate of approximately €422 per 1,000 cubic meters.
Energoinvest request and link to international market signals
The revision was initiated after importer Energoinvest submitted a request proposing a moderate increase in supply prices. Authorities said the approved level is aligned with developments in international markets, particularly changes communicated by Gazprom Export. They noted that Gazprom Export’s updated pricing coefficient for the upcoming quarter also rose by 4.59%, matching the direction and magnitude of the domestic adjustment.
End-user prices left unchanged despite European volatility
Officials pointed out that while European energy markets were volatile during the first quarter of 2026, end-user prices in the federation remained unchanged. They characterized the latest increase as a limited correction and said it still leaves gas prices below comparable levels seen across Europe.
